Escape to Paradise: Siargao's Most Romantic Beach Villas
Okay, buckle up, buttercups. This isn't your grandma's travel review. We're diving headfirst into Escape to Paradise: Siargao's Most Romantic Beach Villas, and I'm gonna spill the tea, the sand, and maybe a little bit of seawater on the whole experience. Prepare for some messy, honest, and utterly human observations.
Escape to Paradise: Siargao… Does it REALLY Exist? (And is it worth it?)
First things first: Accessibility. Look, I'm not a wheelchair user, but from what I could see, it's gonna be tricky. Facilities for disabled guests are listed, but specific details are… vague. Let's just say, Siargao in general isn't exactly known for its smooth sidewalks. Heads up, if this is a dealbreaker, double-check everything beforehand.
Internet: Okay, this is important. We need Wi-Fi, right? Free Wi-Fi in all rooms is a HUGE plus, and they deliver. I'm talking, streamed-Netflix-while-sipping-a-cocktail kinda Wi-Fi. (Which, by the way, is a MUST.) Internet [LAN] is also available, which I didn't use but hey, options, right? Wi-Fi in public areas? Yep. All good. In paradise, communication is vital. ;)
Cleanliness and Safety: Okay, let's talk pandemic reality. They're trying. Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, and Rooms sanitized between stays are good signs. Sanitized kitchen and tableware items, Staff trained in safety protocol, Hand sanitizer… they're covering the bases. Physical distancing of at least 1 meter? Well, that's the guest's responsibility, really. But they're making an effort, and that's what counts. The doctor/nurse on call is reassuring, just in case my stomach decides to rebel against all the delicious food.
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking: (Food, Glorious Food!) This is where things get really good. Restaurants, plural! Asian cuisine in restaurant, International cuisine in restaurant, Vegetarian restaurant… my hungry little heart was thrilled. Breakfast [buffet] is a classic, with coffee/tea in restaurant to kickstart the day. A Poolside bar is essential. And the Snack bar is your knight in shining armor when those afternoon munchies hit. I'm a sucker for desserts in restaurant, and the A la carte in restaurant provides so much to choose from. Happy hour? Oh, yes, please! The quality? Pretty high. I may have ordered way too much.
Things to Do & Relaxation: (The Ultimate Bliss) Okay, brace yourselves, because this is where Escape to Paradise really earns its name. Swimming pool [outdoor]? Check. And it's stunning, with a Pool with view, where you can get some alone time or take some amazing photos. Massage? OMG, YES. I booked one the second I arrived. Let me tell you, after a long flight, getting kneaded by a skilled masseuse while listening to the waves… pure, unadulterated heaven. They also offer Body scrub and Body wrap, and I will tell you, it’s a bit weird for me, but the experience is well worth it, if you are someone who wants to completely relax! Then, there’s the Sauna, the Spa, and the Steamroom. (I did it all. No regrets.) There’s also a Foot bath which feels heavenly after a long day of exploring. The Gym/fitness are also available! Basically, you're not getting bored.
Services and Conveniences: (They Thought of Everything!) Air conditioning in public area is a godsend in the tropical heat. Daily housekeeping, a clean room every day? Yes, please. Concierge? Super helpful. Laundry service saved my life (I’d packed way too little!). Luggage storage? Essential. Safety deposit boxes? Always a good idea. Car park [free of charge] saves on the extra expenses. They also had an elevator for easier access!
For the Kids: (Family Time!) Didn’t have any kids with me, but they have Babysitting service and Kids facilities. So, if you are traveling with your kids, they are most welcome.
Getting Around: Airport transfer? Yes! Essential, because figuring out transportation after a long flight is the last thing you want to do. Taxi service available. Car park [on-site] is super convenient if you plan on exploring.
Available in All Rooms: (What Your Room Will REALLY Be Like!) Okay, let's talk about your personal paradise. Air conditioning? Obviously. Free bottled water? Nice touch. Mini bar? Perfect for midnight snacks. Wake-up service? Essential for not missing sunrise. The Blackout curtains were a total game-changer for sleeping in! Now, the real magic? The balcony. Sip your coffee, watch the waves, and feel the stress melt away. The room also has a Bathroom phone, you know, for chatting during a hot bath. A desk for your laptop (if you must do work, but you shouldn't!). The other available amenities include a Bathrobes and Slippers, Coffee/tea maker, Hair dryer, In-room safe box, Refrigerator, Satellite/cable channels, Seating area, Separate shower/bathtub, Shower, Sofa, Telephone, Toiletries, Towels, a Window that opens, and Wi-Fi [free] (Because, come on, we need it!). The rooms were well-designed, the beds were comfy. I especially loved the extra-long bed, because I have a very long body, and I felt right at home!
Things I Loved (And Things That Could Be Better)
The Vibe: The whole place feels special. It's romantic without being cheesy, relaxing without being boring.
The Staff: Super friendly and helpful. They genuinely want you to have a good time.
Room Service: Excellent, and available 24 hours. Perfect for those late-night cravings.
The Spa: Worth every single penny (and then some).
The Location: Right on the beach! Pure bliss.
The Prices: It's not the cheapest place to stay, but honestly, the experience justifies the cost.
The Accessibility: Again, could be better. Double-check if you have specific needs.
A little more variety in options would be nice.
Overall:
Escape to Paradise mostly lives up to the name. Does it have a few rough edges? Sure. Is it perfect? Nope. But is it a fantastic place to unwind, recharge, and soak up some serious island vibes? Absolutely.

- Book a massage. Seriously, do it.
- Get up early and watch the sunrise. Trust me.
- Don't be afraid to try new things!

Okay, buckle up Buttercup, because this isn't your sanitized brochure itinerary. This is Siargao, Baby, and it's gonna be messy, magical, and maybe a little bit sunburned.
Siargao Island: Romantic Beach Villas - A Love Affair (and a bit of a Mess)
(Day 1: Arrival – Hello, Paradise? More Like, HELLO, JET LAG)
- Morning (ish): Landed at Sayak Airport (IAO). Or, well, tried to land. That tiny little airstrip feels like a glorified grass field sometimes. We actually circled for a bit because another plane was "slowly" taxiing. Instant anxiety spike. Finally touched down, but felt like a rollercoaster ride. Grabbed our bags (miraculously intact). Finding a tricycle… ugh. Negotiating the price felt like a black market auction. Ended up paying way too much, I just wanted to arrive.
- Afternoon: Finally, finally, at the Romantic Beach Villas. "Romantic?" Yeah, alright. It's gorgeous, I'll give you that. Overwater bungalow, check. Turquoise water practically bubbling at your doorstep, check. Initially, the view was so stunning I almost cried. Then, the aircon hiccuped the moment we unpacked (classic). Called reception. They said they'd send someone. They… didn't. My mood: slightly less romantic.
- Evening: The Sunset (which was totally breathtaking, okay?!). Managed to snag a table at the villa's restaurant. Ordered the seafood platter (because when in Rome, or rather, when in Siargao, eat seafood!). Overcooked. Slightly. More specifically, the grilled fish was dry and tough and I struggled with every bite while pretending to be okay with it (badly: I did complain to the waiter). But the sunset! Unreal. Orange, pink… I felt silly, but I was almost crying again! It erased the aircon woes and the dry fish, for at least an hour. We ended the night with some local Rum cocktails - a very very shaky start to our love affair.
(Day 2: Surf's Up? More Like, Surf's…Down (Then Up, Then Down Again)
- Morning: Woke up to the sound of, you guessed it, the turquoise water gently lapping at our doorstep. Feeling the jet lag fade (a little). Breakfast at the villa – surprisingly good. The coffee was surprisingly strong. Decided to hit up Cloud 9 (the famous surf spot) to witness the magic. The swell looked massive and intimidating.
- Mid-morning: Rented a surfboard. Tried to look cool. Fell. A lot. Seriously, I spent more time swallowing seawater than standing up. A very kind local kid named Arnie (that’s what I called him anyway) tried to give me a few pointers but it felt like trying to balance a teacup on a rollercoaster. Humiliating. But… the energy! The atmosphere! The sheer joy on the faces of the surfers… it was contagious.
- Afternoon: Lunch at a shack near Cloud 9. Had the best grilled fish tacos I’ve ever eaten. (See, redemption!). Saw some seriously talented surfing (making me feel even worse about my own attempts). Watched the sun shimmering on the water, ate more tacos, and felt like I could stay there forever. I'm pretty sure I fell in love with the Philippines.
- Evening: Dinner at Kermit, the famous pizza place. (I have no idea why it's called Kermit). Waited in line for an hour and a half, and I’m not normally a "wait in line" kind of person, but the reviews were relentless. The pizza… was so good, it almost made me want to get in line again. Almost! Met some other travelers, swapped stories, and laughed until my stomach hurt.
(Day 3: Island Hopping – Sun, Sand, and Sea Sickness (Bonus!)
- Morning: Organized an island-hopping tour. Tried to be adventurous. Started with Naked Island (that's literally what it is - a sandbar in the middle of the ocean). Gorgeous, but HOT. Like, egg-frying-on-the-sand hot.
- Mid-morning: Next stop: Daku Island. Lunch was included: BBQ fish. This time, thankfully, it was not dry. Ate so much grilled fish I felt like a sea creature myself. Tried snorkelling – saw some fish! Very, very, very pretty fish. Spent some time chatting with the other people on the boat - more stories, more laughter, more sun.
- Afternoon: Guyam Island. Absolutely enchanting, with its palm trees and tiny beach… I have never seen such stunning pictures. Took so many pictures, that I had my phone fall in the water: so I lost all the pictures. I felt a pang of sadness.
- Evening: The trip back… ugh. My stomach staged a mutiny. Sea sickness. Not pretty. Spent the entire boat ride with my eyes firmly shut, trying not to add to the ocean's water with my own. Made it back to the villa, collapsed. Ordered room service. The aircon still wasn't working perfectly. Managed to watch a movie and fell asleep: exhaustion is a wonderful remedy, I guess.
(Day 4: Back to Cloud 9? (Maybe Not, But Definite Regrets)
- Morning: Woke up still feeling a bit delicate from the seasickness. Planned to go back to Cloud 9 for another attempt at surfing.
- Mid-Morning: Woke up and felt like I had the worst hangover of my life; so I decided to rent a motorbike instead - I had never driven a motorbike before. The roads were rough, the traffic worse. I got lost. I didn't fall, but I crashed into a pothole and my phone went flying. It's lost now. My romantic vacation is turning into an absolute disaster…
- Afternoon: I sat at Cloud Nine's restaurant. Watched the surfers, tried to write, cried, and then I laughed. I'm gonna miss this place so much.
- Evening: Managed to find a good restaurant (with working aircon). I met a local boy and walked around town with him: somehow, it made me feel not so alone.
(Day 5: Departure - A Farewell (and a Promise to Return)
- Morning: Woke up, packed (thankfully, no tears this time). Spent a final hour on the beach, just breathing in the salty air, trying to memorize every detail. This place has broken me.
- Mid-morning: Breakfast. Seafood yet again. This place is amazing.
- Afternoon: Said goodbye to the staff, who were surprisingly helpful and genuine. Hopped on the tricycle back to the airport. Saw the same airstrip. Said a silent prayer to the turbulence gods.
- Departure: As the plane took off, I looked back at the island. Sun-kissed skin, salty hair, a slightly broken phone and a heart full of memories (and sea sickness!), with a promise to return. Romantic Beach Villas, Siargao… you beautiful, messy, imperfect masterpiece. I'll be back. Eventually. Maybe. Definitely.

Is "Escape to Paradise" Really as Romantic as it Sounds? (Spoiler: Depends. Maybe.)
Are the Villas Really on the *Beach*? (Because "Waterfront" is a Broad Term...)
Is the Food Good? (Because I'm a Glutton, and Honesty is the Best Policy.)
Are the Villas Private Enough? (Because Sometimes, You Just Want to be Left Alone to… Well, *Whatever*.)
What's the Wi-Fi Like? (Because, Let's Face It, Some of Us NEED to Stay Connected.)
Is it Safe? (Because, You Know, I Worry.)
Should I Rent a Scooter? (Because I Want Adventure, Even If I'm Clumsy.)
